 | Reinstatement of MED certificate No. TE/MED/01/2006

On 4 March 2010 Polski Rejestr Statków S.A., as notified body for 96/98/EC directive (MED), reinstated validity of the EC Type Examination Certificate (Module B) No. TE/MED/01/2006 for immersion suit lights type „AQL-1”, manufactured by Euro Asia Manufacturing Company Ltd., Thailand, suspended on 11 February 2010.
Simultaneously changing the type identification of the lights to “AQ1” has been accepted.

Retroactive requirements of SOLAS 74 Convention regarding fire protection for passenger ships carrying more than 36 passengers and constructed before
1 October 1994
Until 1 October 2010, existing passenger ships shall comply with retroactive requirements of Amendments to Chapter II-2 of SOLAS Convention, Regulation 41-1/2.4 – Upgrading of passenger ships carrying more than 36 passengers constructed before 1 October 1994, adopted by Res. MSC.24(60) on 10 April 1992.

| Amendment to Marine Equipment Directive (MED)

From 6 April 2010 the provisions of Commission Directive 2009/26/EC of 6 April 2009 amending Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment will apply to the equipment which is subject to Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment.
