One of the most prestigious maritime trade fairs in the world - Posidonia - will take place on June 6-9 in Piraeus. The event gathers dozens of representatives from over 90 countries and thousands of visitors. It is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy in Greece, the Union of Greek Shipowners and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping.

The fair takes place in the country with the largest commercial fleet in the world, serving 20% of the global and 50% of the European volume, a fleet whose size is constantly growing - currently, more tankers, LNG and LPG gas carriers, as well as dry bulk carriers and container ships are under construction. Greece is the country with the world's largest shipping community – more than 5000 companies and the largest transport capacity - 75 operators operate fleets of more than 1 million DWT, and 64 fleets consist of 20 ships or more.

Posidonia therefore presents enormous business opportunities and therefore attracts shipyards, suppliers of marine equipment, information technology and the entire spectrum of marine services from all over the world.

PRS has been participating in these fairs for years, so the Polish classification society cannot be missing this year as well. In this edition of Posidonia, PRS invites everyone interested in its services to the Polish Pavilion - a joint stand of Polish entities representing the maritime industry, headed by the Ministry of Infrastructure. The exhibitors of the Pavilion, in addition to PRS and the Ministry, will be: SR Nauta, MSR Gryfia, Szczecin Shipyard Wulkan, Port of Gdansk and Port of Gdynia, Trident BMC and Bota Technik.

Posidonia is not only a trade fair, but also conferences, seminars and technical workshops that will enable discussions and debates on the problems, challenges and opportunities facing the shipping industry. Among the organizers of the accompanying events is the Polish Embassy in Greece, which is preparing a seminar promoting the Polish maritime industry entitled "Poland: thinking out of the box about maritime industry". The event, organized in cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Development and Technology, will be held on June 7 between 10.30 and 12.30 in Posidonia Seminar Room Central.
