Directive 2014/86/EU of 15 May 2014 concerning pressure equipment, called PED Directive,applies to design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure equipment with a maximum allowable pressure PS greater than 0.5 bar. The Directive also applies to pressure assemblies, containing several pieces of pressure equipment, assembled by a manufacturer to constitute an integrated and functional whole if they are placed on the market and put into operation as an assembly.
Pressure equipment includes vessels, piping, safety accessories and pressure accessories.
The following products are excluded from the scope of this Directive:
Before placing pressure equipment on the market, the manufacturer shall subject each item of equipment to one of the conformity assessment procedures described in Annex III to the Directive.
The Polish Register of Shipping S.A. executes all procedures of conformity assessment with PED Directive for pressure equipment and assemblies.
