PRS activities cover a wide range of services. Lately we have extended a spectrum of company approval certification by verification in scope of Inventory of Hazardous Materials service supplier.
We are prepared to approve firms engaged in ship recycling services such as Inventory of Hazardous Materials suppliers, HazMat Experts, Laboratories, Ship Recycling Facilities. The procedure of approval covers verification of documents, inspection of Service Supplier and issuing an Approval Certificate. Procedure of this new category of company approval is based on PRS Rules - Publication 51/P.
We encourage all companies providing services in the ship recycling sector to apply for PRS company approval certificates - please contact to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are reminding that the deadline for ratification of the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships is approaching. The main purpose of this agreement is to prevent, reduce and, if possible, eliminate incidents caused by ship recycling that could negatively affect human health and the environment. An appropriate enforcement mechanism for ship recycling has been introduced on the basis of the Hong Kong Convention.
We also call attention to the obligation to develop Part I of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials, which applies to shipyards in the case of new ships, while in the case of ships in operation this obligation lies with the shipowners.
