Directive 2006/42/EC of 17 May 2006 on machinery, shortly called MAD or MD Directive, applies to the below products:
According to the Directive, “machinery” means an assembly, fitted with or intended to be fitted with a drive system other than directly applied human or animal effort, consisting of linked parts or components, at least one of which moves, and which are joined together for a specific application.
The scope of this Directive does not include the following products:
The recommended method to demonstrate that the machinery complies with relevant requirements of MAD Directive is application of harmonized standards related to machinery design, service and installation.
Polish Register of Shipping is competent in carrying out certification procedures of machinery and safety components for conformity with relevant harmonized standards.
