Directive Application
The Directive 89/686/EEC applies to personal protective equipment, i.e. any device or appliance designed to be worn or held by an individual for protection against one or more safety and health hazards.
Among personal protective equipment covered by Directive 89/686/EEC, the PRS S.A. certification covers:
personal protective equipment intended to prevent drowning (lifejackets, armbands, lifesaving suits),
buoyancy aids,
personal protective equipment intended to protect the body against the effect of cold during sailing, fishing and surfing,
diving equipment,
breathing devices of diving equipment.
