Certification of Personal Protective Equipment

Polski Rejestr Statków S.A. is a body notified for conducting procedures of conformity assessment with Council Directive 89/686/EEC of 21 December 1989 on personal protective equipment, with further amendments, hereinafter called PPE Directive (Personal Protective Equipment).

PRS notification covers the following types of personal protective equipment and procedures (modules):

Products	Procedure (module)
Personal protection equipment intended to prevent drowning (lifejackets, armbands, lifesaving suits)	EC type-examination (module B)
Buoyancy aids	EC type-examination (module B)
Personal protection equipment designed to protect the body against the effect of cold during sailing, fishing and surfing	EC type-examination (module B)
Diving equipment	EC type-examination (module B)
Breathing devices of diving equipment	EC type-examination (module B)
	Ensuring EC quality of production by means of monitoring (module D)
	EC quality control for the final product (module C bis2)

PPE Manufacturers, their authorised representatives and other persons interested in certification of the above personal protective equipment shall contact our Co-ordinator for Product Certification. They will be furnished with complete information concerning valid procedures in scope of PPE Directive.
