Polski Rejestr Statkow S.A. is participating in the 21st international
shipping exhibition POSIDONIA 2008, Athens, Greece in June 2nd - 6th and

Software launch from the Polish Register
Hall 3 Stand 315
The international launch of its StabPRS software will be the main focus at Posidonia for Polski Rejestr Statkow (the Polish Shipping Register). Adaptable for individual vessels, StabPRS enables a ship’s officers to make fast and accurate assessments of the vessel’s loading condition and relate them to strength, stability and other safety aspects in a range of conditions.
StabPRS can provide a wide range of calculations and predictions concerning cargo weight, listing through lifting heavy loads, vessel motion in heavy seas and structural stresses emanating from flooded compartments.
StabPRS was introduced at Nor-Shipping last year. Since then, it has been trialled by a group of Polish shipowners whose feedback has helped improve the scope and effectiveness of the software. A presentation and press conference takes place on Friday, June 6th, after which StabPRS will be fully available across the shipping industry.
The stand will feature a presentation about simulated liquid behaviour in ship tanks and their impact on stability dependent on tank filling level.
Representation will include Board President Dr Jan Jankowski, Head Office Surveyor Grzegorz Pettke, Marketing Director Dariusz Rudzinski and Piraeus Branch Manager Leszek Pokora.
Within the past year, PRS has been enjoying a period of expansion in its classification and commercial operations. A representative office has been opened in Shanghai to help service newbuildings in China, with site offices established in the shipyards concerned for Polish surveyors.
The Polish Register has teamed up with the American Bureau of Shipping to offer dual class services on several POLSTEAM newbuildings and explore other areas of co-operation. It has just opened an office in Cairo to strengthen its position in the Egyptian market.
