Concentrated Inspection Campaign PSC - GMDSS

Following the information published by the Black Sea Memorandum of Understanding on its Internet website (http://www.bsmou.org), a Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) was commenced – starting 1 June 2006 – to check compliance of ships' equipment with the requirements of SOLAS Convention regarding radio equipment (GMDSS).

This campaign will be continued until 31 August 2006. It means that during each inspection held by Port State Control Officers special attention will be paid to the above-mentioned equipment.

To help ships’ crews and PRS Surveyors with proper preparation for these inspections, Polski Rejestr Statków has developed a “Checklist” containing typical items of inspection carried out by Port State Control.
