HOW TO OBTAIN PRS CLASS?
STEP ONE - Contact PRS Head Office Sea-going
Ships Survey Department (kn@prs.pl ,
tel.+48 58 751 11 48, fax: +48 58 346 03 94) or your nearest PRS Branch or
Representative Office (See PRS Directory) to receive all the necessary
information and the Request for Classification (88kB) form
to fill in, sign, stamp and send us back.
This form includes the basic data about your vessel, her current
classification and statutory standing, which determines the class
assignment process.
- If your vessel is classed by a EU recognized Classification
Society or
a Classification Society verified for compliance
with QSCS, Transfer of Class procedure applies. Formal and
technical requirements of this procedure are described in PRS
Informative Publication No. 26/I, available on our website http://www.prs.pl/pages/rules/pub/P26I-2010.pdf .
- If your vessel is classed by a Classification Society other than
those mentioned above or lost her class over 6 months ago, Transfer of
Class procedure does not apply. The required scope of the survey for the
class assignment is determined as for Class Renewal Survey (the
so-called Special Survey).
- If your vessel has never been classed, send us basic technical
documentation for review and approval. The required scope of the survey
for the class assignment is determined as for Class Renewal Survey (the
so-called Special Survey) extended to verification of the ship, her
construction and equipment, for compliance with already approved
technical documentation.
STEP TWO - Agree the scope of required
technical documentation, survey details and all other arrangements with
the PRS Branch Office designated by Sea-going Ships Survey Department.
STEP THREE - Prepare your vessel for the
survey. After the survey is satisfactorily completed, the Temporary
Certificate of Class will be issued to allow the ship to operate.
STEP FOUR - After PRS Head Office completes
verification of the survey reports, your ship will obtain full
term Certificate of Class which confirms class assignment.
THAT IS ALL - THE PROCESS IS COMPLETED
WHY PRS?
BECAUSE WE ARE a relatively small society in comparison to IACS
societies, each individual client is treated with SPECIAL ATTENTION. You
will NOT BE LOST within a huge structure. You will always KNOW whom to
contact, you will NOT BE LEFT ALONE and you will always find FRIENDLY
ASSISTANCE.
OUR PRINCIPAL POLICY is ensuring the safety of life and property at sea
as well as protection of the marine environment. We can help you with
competent and considerate advice in difficult commercial market
conditions.
THOUGH ONE OF OUR MAJOR TASKS is the development of Rules for new
constructions the CLASSIFICATION of EXISTING VESSELS constitutes the
prevailing area of our activity. We can promptly specify, using in-house
analytic methods, and clearly define the adjustments to an existing vessel
necessary for her to comply with various current, class and statutory
retroactive requirements.
OUR Transfer of Class Procedure is the same as IACS Procedure. We have
wide experience so you will sail smoothly through the TOC procedure.
BECAUSE WE ARE RECOGNISED by major Maritime Administrations to carry
out statutory service on their behalf your vessel will be surveyed and
certified (including ISM and ISPS) by one organisation - PRS, therefore
one inspection may cover all requirements.
WE OPERATE according to a QUALITY SYSTEM certified by the Department of
Management and Quality Systems of Ministry of Defense of the Republic of
Poland and AQAP 2130 which guarantees high level of the services
rendered.
FINALLY, WE ARE COST-CONSCIOUS. Acting on our friendly advice you will
not be charged additionally for Transfer of Class proceeding but only for
the services rendered.
