Approval of firms
Service firm or manufacturer, which seeks PRS approval, submits to Polski
Rejestr Statków an application for PRS approval, defining type of activity
subject to approval and basic particulars on the firm.
Upon receiving the
application, PRS specifies the scope of documentation to be submitted to PRS for
consideration. The documentation is approved for compliance with the
requirements of applicable PRS S.A. Rules and when considered constitutes the
base for inspection.
PRS Surveyor carries out inspection in the firm for verifying that the
firm is adequately organised and managed, in accordance with the submitted
documents. Moreover, he/she assesses the firm's ability for realisation of the
activity defined in the application. During the inspection, practical
presentation of the activity subject to approval is required.
Based on the accepted documentation and positive result of the inspection,
PRS issues Approval Certificate which specifies the approval range and validity.
After termination of the certificate validity period, the approval may be, upon
request of the firm, renewed, after reinspecting the firm.
Approval of
the firm granted PRS Quality Management System Certificate
Special
discount will apply when calculating costs of approval of the firm having PRS
certified quality management system complying with ISO 9001
Standard.
