Approval of products
Product manufacturer, which is interested in receiving Type Approval
Certificate, submits to Polski Rejestr Statków an application for PRS approval.
Basic particulars on the product are to be enclosed with the application.
Upon receiving the application, PRS specifies the scope of documentation to
be submitted to PRS for agreeing or approval.
Based on the agreed test programme, type tests are carried out either
attended by the PRS Surveyor or in a laboratory approved by Polski Rejestr
Statków. PRS may accept all or part of the results of the tests carried out by
the laboratory approved by the organization other than PRS.
PRS Surveyor carries out inspection in the workshop for verifying that the
production process and product quality control is in accordance with the
submitted documents. Based on the accepted documentation and positive results of
type tests and of the inspection, PRS issues Type Approval Certificate, which
specifies the approval validity date. After termination of the certificate
validity period, the approval may be, upon request of the firm, renewed, after
reinspecting the firm.
